We enjoyed breakfast down at the bistro. On our way down, we chatted with Aiden, a vet with the horse races this weekend. He is such a friendly sort, offering his wishes for quick healing and reminding us that fresh air is the best thing for Bill right now to clear the lungs.
It was good to see Bill with more of an appetite amd his first coffee.
We wandered over to Tesco and the pharmacy to get a few items we needed, then took Aiden's advice and walked along the quiet path near our hotel.
While Bill had a rest, I returned to the hospital to grab the CD with CR scans. It was a fast trip with no delays. Later in the afternoon, we went down to the Bistro for a coffee (for me) and a sampler of desserts. The desserts were great, but the seats were low and caused some pinching pain in Bill's incisions.
With Bill's belly feeling sore, we decided to have our dinner in our room. I went down to the restaurant to make the order. I have been so impressed with the staff. They are so aware of the hotel patrons and their tendencies. On my way out with our meal, and Irish gentleman opened the door for me. He jazzed me in a way only the Irish ca with a quick chat about how food is "forkin" better eaten in the pub with a "forkin" Guiness. When I explained about my husband just having surgery, he quickly followed with a convincing argument that all he needs is a "forkin" Guiness to heal him up and give him a "forkin" good night’s sleep. I simply can't give the entire description of the conversation in this space, not the exact number of forks, but it was a moment in this trip I may repeat often and will never forget!
I later checked with the front desk about late check out and pre-booking a cab since the races are on. Jaycee was so gracious. She waived our €20 late check out fee and called for a cab driver personally to get us the best rate for our trip to Killarney.
The evening was filled with packing and organizin, and a highlight was a video chat with my sister, Karen. Her worry and concern for Bill warranted a call, and she wasted no time diverting the conversation to topics.such as the Calgary Flames and plans for Thanksgiving.
It was a good day. ❤️
