September 22, 2025:

This morning, I ran downstairs for breakfast and later brought up some porridge for Bill.

There was a need for laundry, today, so while Bill napped, I packed up the dirty clothes into my purple backpack and ventured to my local fishbowl for a quick load of wash - 25 minutes, to be exact.  While the clothes were taking care of themselves, I went next door to TK Maxx to look for a pair of lounge pants for Bill.  The waistband on his pants and shorts were digging into one of his incisions.  Check out the options I had!
Fuzzy pants?  Who wouldn't want these?
Nope, not his style of stripes.
A new winter coat, anyone?
This has a Mrs. Roper vibe to it, don't you think?

When I returned to the hotel, I went to get us some lunch.  The bistro had a creamy vegetable soup that was spectacular!  The pureed vegetables in broth with a fresh roll and Irish soda bread made for a perfect lunch.  It was time for Bill to take another nap, so I went to the hospital to collect a CD with his scans on it.  One of the doctors recommended we request for this to help with insurance documentation.  I stopped at the front desk to have thank you notes printed off for the Emergency Department and each of the units he was on.  The reception staff at the hotel are so gracious and offered to print them in color for free.   Thanks to Canva (with a little help from AI) for the designs!
It's only a 15 minute walk to the hospital, but I ran into to a gentleman named Jim on the way.  I had seen him a few times at the hotel and at the hospital, so guessed he was in the same boat as me.  He and his wife, Deb, are from Minnesota and were in an accident, resulting in her having injuries to keep her in hospital.  Fifteen minutes later, I was back to my walk.  The main reception at the hospital still didn't have the CD, so I waited for a bit. You could feel how busy it was there, so I showed some patience and decided to wait.  A lady approached me to ask how my husband was.  Theresa was in the room with Bill.  We didn't see her much because she often had family around.  We had a wonderful chat (for about 40 minutes), when I decided to check on my disk.  Still not ready, but was promised it would be there later on.  I thanked Theresa for the visit and started for the hotel.

Again, the restaurant offered a wonderful meal for supper.  This time, lasagna with a side salad and fries, and of course, a Guiness.
I brought a chicken Caesar salad for Bill.  He's trying really hard to build his appetite, which will pay off sooner than he thinks.

After some texts and phone calls, it was time to call it a night.
