The days are sort of repetitive, now. Get up and ready for the day, breakfast, got to the hospital, pay attention to all of the tests, antibiotics, and doctor visits, supper somewhere, and get back to the Manorlodge before it gets too late.
The Manorlodge Full Irish Breakfast was fantastic, coupled with French press coffee.
I had a lovely visit with my new friends, Judy and Jerry. Jerry took me to the hospital before they had to check out and be on their way. They have truly been a blessing to this trip. I hope there is a day we can go to Nashville and thank them for their kindness in person.
We have had a lot going on at the hospital. Physio came to get Bill up and going. It was a short walk, but he was happy with getting to move around.
When he returned, his O2 stats were under 94%, so they put him on 2L of O2 to supplement. Because of that, there was an order for more blood work, and a follow up CT to be sure everything is going well. The catheter is still in. The drainage tube is still in. He is on a light diet - jello, ice cream, coffee/tea, etc. I'm hoping tonight he will get a soup of some kind for more nourishment.
The interns around here are on the spot. Annon (Boston) has such a professional approach with kindness and clarity. Patricia is a lovely redheaded gal from Poland. She is efficient and takes initiative wherever needed. Again, so genuine. The nurses (primarily Jaden, Carrie, and Anjeli) are ever present, checking on stats, Bill's comfort, and any needs.
Although his breathing isn't as deep as we want, its not a surprise after surgery, and his O2 levels have improved by late afternoon. I wandered down to the restaurant for a salad with chicken before coming back up stairs for another little bit. Because the days are getting shorter, I left Bill around 6pm for my evening walk back to the Manorlodge. The skies were fairly clear, for a change, and it seemed like daylight wanted to hold on a little bit longer for me.Back at the Manorlodge, I spent most of the evening updating family on his status before going to bed myself.
