September 10, 2026 - Exploring Tralee

We got a slower start to the morning today.  Breakfast downstairs was a full Irish buffet.  Love me some black and white pudding!

We had a couple of errands to run and wanted to explore the museum with a representation of Old Tralee Town in the medieval days.  Bill found himself in a little trouble in Town Square.  At least he wasn't hanged!
St. John's Catholic Church is located near our hotel.  Theresa had recommended that if we stopped at any church, this is the one.  "It carries such peace within it," she said.
We sat here for a few minutes to simply soak it in.  The silence.  Peace.  Architecture.  Stained glass.  In moments like this, you can contemplate, reflect, and have gratitude.  What a special place.
This sign give a little more detail as to the links between the church, St. Brendan, and the Kerry Camino.
A lot of the remainder of the day was spent blogging and preparing for tomorrow.  Thursday nights is pizza night at the restaurant downstairs.  We each enjoyed a delicious pizza with a side salad and, of course, a Guiness. When we returned to the room, a pub down the street had a live band playing.  With our window open because it was so warm in the room, we let the contemporary tunes played with an Irish twist float past our curtains and somehow, between the bass, the singing, the crowd singing off key, and the sound of cars along the street, we were ready to drift off to sleep...until the music stopped. That's when the shenanigans started outside in front of our hotel.  The noise, the yelling, the drunkenness, all until 3am.  Only then did we finally get some sleep.  We will see how tomorrow works out with minimal sleep!
