As we were flying in to Maui late last night, we could see the fireworks display in Lahaina. From a distance, it looked like any other fireworks show, with all the burst of bright and beautiful colour. While on the Honoapiilani highway that takes us around the island to Kahana, we faced hundreds of cars on the road, bumper to bumper heading east, while we ventured along with very little traffic in our westbound lane. It was also interesting to see so many groups with their day camps set up to party well into the night with their canopies, coolers, BBQs and celebration. When we arrived at the resort, we realized that the big fireworks display was in Lahaina, which was reason for all of the traffic.
Here's our little place at Sands of Kahana. It is a one bedroom suite with two bathrooms and a pull out couch, for small families. The full galley kitchen is tighter than the larger suites here, but works just fine for the two of us.
