I thought that this page was posted to the blog from our March trip to Belize. Sorry for the delay.
The sun has set on another vacation.
We have had our last dip in the pool, a late lunch at Ak-Bol for a dinner of snapper burritos, and a walk out to the dock to watch the sunset over the lagoon. Tomorrow, we head off to Belize City in order to catch an early enough flight to Houston and on to YYC.
The brown in the background, which should be sand, is actually saragassum seaweed. It has inundated many of the beaches throughout the Caribbean over the winter and throughout this spring. It smells very much like manure in the worst spots. A lot of the resorts have hired locals to clean it up along their beach, but it is always a losing battle with more seaweed coming in all day long.
