Critters of the Climate

We haven't been here long and have already seen so many beautiful creatures right around our home. Ambergris Caye is also destination for 'birders' come because there are so many varieties of birds here.

The other night, Bill was ready to jump in the shower before going to bed.  He found this little fellow hanging out in the shower with him.  Because we have done the majority of our travelling on cruise ships, we've not had an encounter such as this little gecko.  We see several geckos every night around the patio by the pool.  They hang out along the roof line.  They appear lighter in the evenings, so almost camoflauge with the walls.

We have a resident lizard here on the property, as well as other smaller lizards.  Bill got a great shot of this guy just out the back gate.

This little guy is one of the heron family.  He flew in for a visit on the patio by the pool.  Other birds we've seen are the yellow-backed oriole and humming birds.

This little guy was out next to the dock by the lagoon at the back of the property.
