It was a no-brainer for us to determine a cruise was the best option to meet the criteria for this vacation. We have enjoyed several cruises over the years, experiencing a variety of ports in Alaska, the Caribbean, Venezuela, Columbia, Costa Rica, Panama Canal, Hawaii and Mexico. Most of these cruises have been planned around my work schedule of spring and summer breaks. It seemed like this would be a perfect time to commit several weeks over summer break to experience a whole new part of the world.
The purpose of this trip is to celebrate Bill's birthday, so he got to pick the cruise. It was easy for us to settle on The Mediterranean Adventurer as our first European cruise. This is a 14 day, round-trip cruise on the Emerald Princess embarking at London/Southampton. As we began to examine the cruise and other possibilities to extend our vacation, and after much deliberation and examination of the potential ports of call, we decided to take the leap and book a second cruise on the same ship. The Emerald Princess will take us on another round-trip cruise through various ports along the Baltic Sea in northern Europe, hence named The Baltic Heritage cruise.
We have always had positive experiences on Princess Cruises, and often feel like we are a part of a family by the time we disembark. Because we are past passengers, we enjoy additional benefits to our cruising experience such as free internet time, preferred passenger boarding (much shorter line-ups), ship-board credits (equals additional shopping for Katharyn), and much more!
As our departure date approaches, the excitement is building. Taking this opportunity to learn about the world of blogging and share our experiences with those who choose to follow seemed like a natural step in our planning.
We hope you enjoy!
